About me

My journey to psychotherapy has been shaped by a belief that we are more than our struggles, our histories or the labels placed upon us. As a psychotherapist, counsellor and member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I bring together professional training and lived experience with a curiosity about how identity, culture, relationships and the world around us shape who we become.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than twenty years working in corporate training, leadership development and coaching. Over time, I became increasingly interested in what sat beneath performance and achievement — the experiences, beliefs and stories we carry with us, and the patterns that can keep repeating across different parts of our lives. My own experiences of therapy and personal change ultimately led me towards work that felt more closely aligned with my values.

I hold a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a major in Anthropology. Psychology gave me a foundation for understanding the mind and behaviour, while anthropology opened up a broader curiosity about culture, meaning and the many different ways humans understand themselves and healing. Travel and experiencing different cultures have continued to shape this perspective.

My approach today reflects all of these influences. I’m interested not only in what is happening in the mind, but in the whole person — body, relationships, culture, identity, environment and, where meaningful to you, questions of spirituality and soul. I draw on established therapeutic approaches while remaining curious about the different ways people find meaning, connection and change.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll often find me out with my greyhound, bushwalking in the Otways, camping with friends or planning where to explore next. My own reconnection with nature has been an important part of my life and is one of the influences behind Soul Terrain.

I don’t believe therapy is about me telling you who you should become. My role is to walk alongside you as we explore your own terrain — understanding what has shaped you, discovering what feels authentically yours, and finding ways of living that feel more connected and meaningful.
